Meet the Artist

Until I moved to the U.S. at 14 years old, I was raised in The Netherlands. Leaving one culture and moving to another at such a pivotal moment in my life left me with a lot of uncertainty and questions surrounding society.
My interest in philosophy in College came from my need to answer these questions; it was here that I started seeing my distinct cultural perspective as a valuable tool.
My mentor at this time emphasized the importance of feeling discomfort while creating something vulnerable.

Whether that be writing a paper on critical theory or creating a piece of art, it is because of her persistence that I was able to hone in on my ability and use this discomfort in my creations.
Because of this the creation of my art is often as messy as the experience it is allowing me to process. It is deep within this mess that I have found my creative purpose and deep within this mess where I hope to inspire others to go.
